This is a hard cover Book of Rules from the Central Railroad of New Jersey entitled Catechism on the Interstate Commerce Commission Regulationsfor the Transportation of Explosives and Other Dangerous Articles Effective June 1st, 1923 Inside the front cover is printed "This book is the property of The Central Railroad Company of New Jersey and is loaned to you. It's price, 50 cents, will be deducted from your pay if it is not returned to the proper officer on demand." SIZE: Approx. 4-1/4 by 6-1/4 inches. There are only 14 pages of Questions and Answers inside ! CONDITION: The covers have taken some abuse. The binding is tight and secure BUT somewhat fragile because the paper pages are secured by string; the two outside pages are glued into the hard covers. Because there are so few pages the spine is worn on the outside and is scuffed at top and bottom. The front cover is pretty good but the outside back cover has white marks showing (we did not try to remove them) and a not immediately noticeable stain on the bottom right (this does NOT show on the inside!) The inside pages are age darkened as expected. They are not perfectly clean, appearing "grungy" with darker areas down the middle and along the edges. It's obviously been read. IMPORTANT - several questions have an X marked beside them (see our last photo for a typical example).Otherwise, there is NO writing, NO rips or tears, No missing pages, NO dog eared or creased pages.
