Description: Selling my dad’s lifelong collection so see my other listings. Pops was a stickler on condition, so all my offerings are rare and in excellent condition. Ex Estate of Rudy Vallee: Offered here are two rare 33rpm 12” discs containing a complete radio broadcast from RUDY VALLEE AND THE CONNECTICUT YANKEES radio program of June 5, 1937. Program was originally broadcast from the Hotel Astor, NY. On these discs Rudy sings some of the songs that he was most famous for. What a fun, great radio program!! There are a total of 9 songs on these double-sided 12-inch, 33-rpm discs. These discs appear to be black lacquer acetate coated aluminum. These discs were recorded live by Edwin Strong, Inc, at the Hotel Astor as it was being broadcast on June 5, 1937. There are 2 discs and therefore 4 sides. Side 4 says REPRISE. These discs were recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public, so these are very rare! In addition to Rudy Valle’s announcements at the beginning of the program and throughout the broadcast about the evenings performance and guests there is his trademark opening music. Songs include “There Goes Yesterday” sung by Rudy Vallee, “Was It Rain”, “They All Laughed” sung by Judy Starr, “Caravan” played by Rudy’s orchestra, “Never in A Million Years” sung by Rudy Vallee, “Wanted”, “The Wiffenpoof Song” sung by Rudy Vallee & the Gentleman Songsters, “Panamania”, and “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” sung by Rudy Vallee. These are extremely rare, one-of-a-kind discs featuring rare performances. I was unable to find any reference to any other existing copies of this radio performance. FREE SHIPPING TO USA CUSTOMERS
