Description: Vintage 1960s-1970s ILGWU Maxi Dress Paisley - Pink, Yellow, & Orange Lined, tiered skirt, long sleevesSize small? Size 4/6? This dress was made between 1964 and 1973, based on the design of the ILGWU label. It is very well made, and at first I thought it was handmade because of the attention to detail. The paisley material is cotton or a cotton blend and is semi-sheer. The yellow lining is a stiff synthetic material, possibly polyester, nylon, or acetate. The bodice front neckline is scooped/rounded; in the back it is more of a v-shape. The skirt has 3 tiers, and the hem is rolled. The sleeves are narrower at the top, and then have a fuller section. The cuffs have hook and thread-loop closures. The dress zips up the back; the zipper is about 13.5" long. There is a hook closure at the top of the zipper; the thread loop will need repair. There is a decorative bow along the back waistline that snaps open and closed to allow zipper access. This dress is in overall excellent used condition. Zipper functions smoothly. No rips or holes. No visible stains. The hanging shoulder loops have a smudge on each one where they rubbed against a metal hanger (not pictured). A few loose threads on trim/seams. The hand sewn loop for the hook back closure needs repair. Please view all photos as they are part of the description. There is no size tag in this garment, but I would call it a small, or size 4 to 6. The measurements are as follows:- Shoulder to hem: 54"- Shoulder to bottom row of trim at waist (this dress is high-waisted): 14"- Waist (bottom row of trim) to hem: 40"- Sleeve from top of shoulder inset to end of cuff: 23"- Waist (bottom row of trim): 13.5" (measured flat)- Armpit to armpit (measured flat): 16" (Note: there is probably a little extra room in there due to the darts in the chest area)- Shoulder width from sleeve inset seam to seam: 17"- Full hem sweep of skirt (laid flat): 57"- Width of lining at hem (laid flat): 29.5"
