Description: I personally spoke with the Upper Deck Company in the year 2000 regarding this card. I was the first person to have a Gem of this card graded by BGS or PSA. As it was explained to me, Upper Deck realized very early on the production floor that cards were being produced with white "A's" on the Rodriguez card and other white letters for other players like "D" for Derek Jeter and "J" for Johnny Damon. The production was stopped and no more of the "white variation" were produced. They were produced in significantly low numbers, well below 3000. Between Beckett and PSA less then 450 total have ever been graded.
