Description: Listing for a Hudson River School sand spotted cove frame made during the mid 1800s. Purchased at one of the old Framefinders auctions. As you can see it has losses in the corners so it will require a trip to the conservator but the plusses are the frame is solid, unwarped and retains its original finish. Will look stunning when fixed up or use as-is. Another frame had a use for until finding something that was closer to the size I required. SIZE: Made for a painting 8 3/4 by 13 inches. (I had planned on using this for an 8 by 12 after adding a liner.) Outer dimensions are 13 3/8 by 17 5/8 inches. Rabbet is 8 7/8 by 13 5/16 inches. Sight size is 8 by 12 5/16 inches. Moulding is 2 5/8 inches wide. Rabbet is a 1/2 inch deep. Moulding is 2 inches deep. CONDITION: Original gilded surface. Scattered holes around the outside edge. Losses to compositional elements in the four corners. SHIPPING: UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage. One may be cheaper than the other.
