Description: Antique 1881 "Excelsior Diary" daily journal of one John C. Mann (1843-1895) in Wayne county, New York. It seems likely that he was a farmer since many of the entries mention working with livestock and grain. Pocket-size book is filled front to back with diary entries and some scribbled figures. The ink and pencil on some pages is smeared and more difficult to read. Book does have a tobacco smell. Measures 3 7/8" x 2 1/2". Shipping on multiple items is combined whenever possible.
