Antique Griddle #8 Cast Iron 10" ~ 1800s w/Heat Ring & Gate Mark ~ Vintage Round

Description: We have available this Rare & Original Gate Marked No.8 Cast Iron Round Griddle. Original used 'as found' condition. Bold 8 Logo on handle, Round Reinforcement Heat Ring with Gate Mark. Interesting Dinner Plate like rim around edge. A very heavy, handled round Griddle, measuring about 10-1/8" (less handle). Very good overall, as used shape, older seasoning from use, no cracks or damage. Sets basically flat on my 1920's Welbilt Range( I don't have a Glass Top). Unrestored condition, has not been cleaned. This would make an excellent old piece of ironware for cooking, camping or collecting. Please check pictures carefully for best description and details. Questions are welcome. Point of interest; Gate marked pans typically do not have the manufacturer’s name on them. Gate marked pans are the oldest of the old cast iron cookware; almost certainly antique. The gate mark is a remnant of the casting process that was used in the 1800’s. In around 1890, soon after this casting process was mostly discontinued.
