Description: ANTIQUE LABELED STENTOR VIOLIN Most likely late 19th century. The case is square nailed, the blue interior is small round nails. Latches and handle missing on case and paint stripped on outside. The violin needs restored. There a crack near the sound post, which is standing inside(see photos). One gut string, one steel. There is a crack lower left bout as shown. Looks like original pegs, they all match. The back is one piece slight tiger maple. Violin sold as is will need set up and crack repaired. from the research I have done this was probably made in London England. That Stentor co was started in London in 1895. The other possibility is there was a brand named Stentor made in France. I am not sure decide for yourself. Please look carefully and ask any questions before offering.
