Description: I am continuing the long process of selling off folk art, textiles, and books from three different collector estates. This auction is for a pair of antique fur gloves collected by the previous owner in 1996. There is a note inside identifying them as "muskrat gloves". The collector had a huge collection of folk art from N. and S. America that was featured in a documentary film. After his passing they came to me. I do not know anything more about their history, unfortunately. I would guess they are from the early 20th century and quite rare. They measure just over 12". There is a slight smell of mothballs, but I have aired them and with time it will dissipate entirely. Some missing fur as shown in the photos, but in quite nice condition overall and beautiful for display. A fine addition to your collection.
