Description: Rare 1800's Antique Vintage Square Bowl White Scalloped Sides Hand Painted Brown TrimMeasurements: 7" Wide, 3" tall. Sits on a rim, measuring 4" square. This ironstone bowl by H. Burgess was introduced in the 1870's. Ironstone production began in the early 1800's Print on the bottom is mostly blurred and impossible to read all of it.What is readable: H. BUR.... the last part is: RSLEM (Research shows it to be H. Burgess, Burslem England)There is a crescent of a lion and a unicornThe Lion stands for England and the Unicorn stand for Scotland.There is also the number 2 and letter U painted on the bottom. (Unsure of what this means) The brown gold paint (copper) around the edges is solid as is the Copper Lustre Tea Leaf Motif on the bottom of the dish.The photos show the bowl to be white. The interior is white and the outside is yellowed with white showing thru.
