Description: Hi This club is a nicely restored hickory shafted Golf Club. 42" length with approximately 10* of loft. The crown is stamped CS Butchart .The shaft also has his mark as well as the mark for West Hill Golf Club Brookwood Surrey. The designers of the club Jack White and Willie Park Jr, both of whom won the open Championship. A Club Professional and Scotsman Named Cuthart Butchart was also appointed to oversee the construction of the course and much of the credit should go to him. He left the club shortly after it opened in 1909. I have done a few of his clubs in the past and they are always well built. I see no cracks and the shaft is firmly attached to the head. Feels like a Firm flex. The grip that was on the club when I got it was not worth saving but when I replaced it is how I found the makers mark on the shaft. It was covered by the grip. I replaced it with a period leather grip. A solid club that looks to be a rare find as well. These old hickory's can always have hidden cracks and I do not guarantee they will hold up if put into play. Shipping $12.99 Thanks for looking and good luck!
