Description: #381 Automatic Electric AE40 Restored Working About this phone: Many hours of time went into restoring this telephone. It was completely disassembled. Each component both inside and outside of the phone right down to the smallest screw was hand cleaned and polished. The dial was cleaned, lightly oiled and checked for calibration and returns nicely. The porcelain number plate shows crisp numbers. It features a chrome package that includes a chrome finger-wheel, card holder and handset bands. The hook switch and dial contacts were cleaned with original Bell Telephone Seal Bond paper specially designed for the purpose. The handset and body were polished to a nice shine. It has a new black cloth handset cord. A new line cord was installed so that it will fit into today's modern land line jacks. Just plug it in. The bottom cover is "New Old Stock" and features the original wiring diagram attached to it. The rubber around the base is new.It features a straight-line ringer so that it will work on today's lines. (Many of these phones came with party line ringers that will not work on today's lines.) All antique rotary phones require a traditional landline for dialing out. If you have another type of phone service, check with your provider as you may need a pulse to tone converter to dial out.
