Description: DATING TO THE EARLY EDWARDIAN YEARS THREE PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION THE OUTER TOP HAS WIDE ARM HOLES AND IS VERY FULL BLOUSON IN THE BUST AND IS FULLER AT THE WAIST WITH POINTED DETAIL ATOP THE SHOULDER WITH FINE PLEATS RUNNING DOWN FROM THE SHOULDER ENDING HALF WAY AND OFF WHITE CHEMICAL LACE TRIMMING. HOOK AND EYES CLOSE THE REAR. THE BOTTOM EDGE IS UNFINISHED. THE OVER TOP HAS AN IVORY SILK SATIN FRONT NECKLINE WITH HOOK CLOSURE BENEATH. THE SLEEVES FALL LONG AND ARE GATHERED AT THE WRIST IN A BLACK BAND WITH A SMALL COTTON ORGANDY RUFFLE TRIMMING. BOTTOM EDGE OF THE BODICE IS ALSO UNFINISHED. THE SKIRT HOOKS CLOSED IN THE REAR AND IS FULLY LINED IN POLISHED COTTON WITH A DOVE GREY COTTON RUFFLING FULLY AROUND THE INTERIOR AND A VELVET BOUND HEM. CONDITION: THE BOTTOM SKIRTING HAS SOME SMALL YELLOWED AGE COLOR THAT IS NOT READILY NOTED WITH A HAND SIZED AREA THAT IS DARKER ON THE REAR TRAIN BOTTOM EDGE. THE OVER TOP HAS SIMILAR AGE DISCOLORATION SEEN ON THE SHOULDERS, ONE SLIGHTLY MORE THAN THE OTHER. THE UNDER TOP HAS SEEN ALTERATION. I BELIEVE THAT THE CLOSURE ORIGINALLY WENT UP THE LEFT SIDE TO THE TOP BUT THE SEAM WAS JOINED CLOSED AND THE HIGH COLLAR IS MISSING. SMALL FRAY IS BEGINNING TO THE IVORY SILK ON THE LEFT SIDE WITH SOME SIMILAR AGE DISCOLORATION SEEN TO THE SHOULDERS WITH THE RIGHT SHOULDER HAVING A BROWN FINGERTIP STAIN THAT IS NOT READILY NOTED.
