Description: A stunning ceramic vase from the California pottery studio of Bruno Kark. This triangular facet vase features a textured raw clay base and a rich, complex multicolor glaze on the top and interior. The combed texture of the clay gives it visual depth. The artist's mark is incised on the base. Kark apprenticed in Bizen, Japan, and his work shows influences from Japanese and other Asian ceramic traditions. Many of his works, like this facet vase, are designed with Ikebana flower arranging in mind, particularly the abstract Sogetsu school. This vase was retailed through the Fumiki Fine Arts gallery in San Francisco, and it comes with an original gallery brochure and artist biography. Size: 12 3/4" tall x 4 3/8" wide.
