Description: Original WWII era manufacture. The smallest of Germany's Axis partners during WWII, this coarse brown wool forage cap was worn by her serving enlisted men. Two crossed cannon and flaming bomb buttons below (symbols of the Royal Bulgarian Army pre-1946). Simple brown cotton lining with an assortment of issue marks, plain tan leather sweatband. The hat is sound with 2 small holes on the edge. Leather sweatband shows wear, but is in very good condition. Buttons are marked on the back in Cyrillic as is proper. Interior marks are I-K, M.3., and 010. Bulgarian lion emblem appears to be made of blackened brass, although it may be something similar to bakelite. A very unusual find considering the survival rate of original Bulgarian WWII military equipment.
