Description: So happy to offer great American music history from my living estate sale. The 1947 BLUE JEANS Cile Turner Originals Old Elkton Forest, VA 3 record set. Interior front cover has a great photo and bio on Cile (Lucile Cile Barrow Turner). Cile hand wrote an inscription to Ethelyn Farrell stating Welcome to Lynchburg! Here's a new friend. Dated Dec, 47 and signed Cile Turner. This was her very first album release. It includes 6 or her original songs: LT 135 featuring Prayer & Hammerin', LT 136 featuring Full O' The Moon & Crap Shootin' Sinner, & LT 137 featuring One Arm Tom & Sat'day Night. Her bio includes accolades from James Weldon Johnson, James Byrd, and David L. Cone. Cile had a regular NBC radio program and a brilliant highly demanded career. That aside, I can only ask myself what she may of equally sacrificed in her career as she studied, embraced and emulated the music of the early South African-American which would of been a music industry taboo throughout virtually all of her long spanning career. I am most proud to pass this holding along knowing she held tight to her heart and love instead of chasing potentially greater stardom in the industry. In 2020 a similar original set sold for $1,500 as seen on Popsike. It also was inscribed, although to a different person and it did not have, what I consider to be very critical, the Dec, 1947 date to match year of production.
