The others in this top five the well known famous Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, Droll Stories illustrated by Gustave Doré probably better known for The Divine Comedy, Memories of Frederick the Great illustrated by Menzel and then Eugene breaks in at number four with Faust. That was back in 1932 and I’m sure Faust has lost some ground to the modern greats such as Sendeck, Van Allsburg and Dr. Seuss. That bit of info comes from the flyer that comes with this beautiful book. The slip case has been doing it’s job since 1932 when acquired by my grandfather and shows it’s fair share of wear and staining. However the book is clean and square. All 18 of Eugene Delacroix litho’s are intact and are pretty well done as far as the story goes, however, All of our books ship inside cardboard and packaged to endure our USPS.
