Description: This is a wonderful and charming Fine Antique Old American Folk Art CAT Kittens Embroidery Textile on Cotton or Linen, likely dating to the 1910's - 1920's. This piece depicts an adorable scene of several yellow - pale orange kittens, surrounding an oriental, likely Japanese vase with a small pagoda and intricate designs throughout, with lavender flowers cascading from the top. This piece is meticulously hand embroidered, and the amount of time and artistic finesse necessary to make it is absolutely astounding. On the sides of the vase are two furry yellow kittens, mischievously pawing at the object. This artwork likely dates to the 1920's - 1930's and appears to be unsigned. Perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? Approximately 16 3/4 x 21 3/8 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 15 1/4 x 19 7/8 inches. Very good condition for nearly a century for age, with light scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded wood frame (please see photos.)
