Description: We love books but are not book specialists so we'll do our best to describe Galapagos: World's End by William Beebe. This volume is bound in dark green cloth and has gilt lettering on its doer and spine. The top page edges are gilt. It was published in 1924 and appears to be the 7th printing. Published under the auspices of the new York Zoological Society, it has 443 numbered pages and a colored frontispiece by Isabel Cooper and 48 illustrations, most of them photographs by John Tee-Van. Condition of the covers and spines is quite good. There is very mild bumping to corners and slight wear to spine edges. The front and back covers have some light marks with the back having more of these. The front cover is quite shaken with separation to the top 20% or so of the hinge and an ex libris with owner's name on the inside front cover. There is some soiling to the bottom edge page in the center to the right. All else seems to be in good order. We wrap our items with great care. Although we list our policy as "no returns allowed," be assured that if we have made an error in our listing, we will be sure to resolve the matter to your satisfaction. ebay forces sellers to choose between a 30 day return policy or none at all and given that few antique/vintage sellers accept returns unless there has been a misidentification or an error in a description, we have opted for this "no returns" policy. For U.S. buyers, we will ship this item via Priority Mail with insurance. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE: For any item selling for more than US $25.00, we only can ship via PRIORITY MAIL EXPRESS INTERNATIONAL, which is quite expensive. There is also a short list of countries to which we are unable to ship. We are unable to falsify the amount that you have paid for an item for customs purposes. We only mention this because we are sometimes asked to do so.
