Description: The Pothos plant, also known as the Giant Epipremnum or Epipremnum aureum, is a popular and versatile houseplant that belongs to the Araceae family. It is native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia and is well-loved for its attractive foliage and ease of care.Pothos plants are known for their trailing vines that can grow quite long, making them ideal for hanging baskets or displaying on shelves. The leaves of the Pothos are heart-shaped and have a glossy, waxy texture. They typically feature a variegated pattern with shades of green and yellow, although there are also cultivars with solid green or variegation in white. One of the remarkable characteristics of Pothos plants is their ability to thrive in a wide range of environments, including low light conditions. This adaptability makes them suitable for various indoor spaces, such as offices, living rooms, or bedrooms. However, they also tolerate brighter light as long as it's indirect to prevent scorching of the leaves.Pothos plants are relatively low-maintenance and are an excellent choice for beginner gardeners. They can tolerate irregular watering, although they prefer slightly moist soil. Overwatering should be avoided, as it can lead to root rot. The plant can even survive periods of drought, as it has the ability to store water in its leaves.Propagation of Pothos plants is quite easy and can be done through stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy vine just below a node and place it in water or directly into moist soil. In a few weeks, the cutting will develop roots and can be potted in its own container.Apart from their aesthetic appeal, Pothos plants are also known for their air-purifying qualities. They have been found to filter toxins from the air, such as formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene, making them a great choice for improving indoor air quality. While Pothos plants are generally non-toxic to humans, they can be harmful to pets if ingested. It's always best to keep them out of reach of cats, dogs, and other animals.Overall, the Pothos plant is a beautiful, low-maintenance houseplant that adds a touch of greenery to any indoor space. Its attractive foliage, adaptability, and air-purifying qualities make it a popular choice among plant enthusiasts of all levels.I have been growing this particular plant in my yard for several years and it is very hardy here in W. Central Florida. If you wish to have it remain small then keep it in a 6 - 10" pot or plant outside and watch it go "crazy". The 3 - 30 -36" long cuttings you will receive can be cut up into 3 to 4 pieces and either place each section in a clear glass container of water and watch as the roots form or place in a pot of potting soil dampened and it will start rooting and growing in 2 or 3 weeks. I use regular house plant fertilizer or Rabbit berries (manure). We ship as soon as possible and you should receive before the expected date but do take into consideration that we do not ship near a weekend or just before a holiday as we do not want your cuttings to just sit somewhere needlessly.
