( ATSF ) Santa Fe Road# 12 DCC Ready means right now this is a DC engine but with a simple DCC decoder that you can buy here on eBay for $20 you can turn this engine into a full DCC engine, or upgrade to a DCC with sound decoder. Brand new and never removed from box. Bought it brand new in the early 2000's from Scale Model Train's in St. Paul MN. Pictures are taken on my personal home layout to show that im not a dealer (just another train fanatic like yourself) and I assure you that your getting a good product because I TEST THEM for you.
