This style nickel was last minted in 1938, just before the Jefferson nickel (like today) was minted. This coin is hand 'cut-out', and placed on an 18" necklace. First a couple holes are drilled, then, using a tiny jeweler's saw the Indian outline is cut around within the nickels rim as pictured. You might consider getting one Indian head nickel, and one Buffalo nickel, and making a charm or set of earrings. A unique gift for you to wear (or remove and place on your chain bracelet).
