Description: I just returned from Ubud, Uluwatu and Nusa Lembongan (island), Indonesia where I purchased a number of items from the Sumatra Batak, Timor, Lombok, Mukulu, and Alor Island. Check out my other listings of these cool pieces! What you see here is from the Batak in Sumatra and this is cow bone carved in the mid 1900's in honor of their ancestors and cultural heritage. The Batak shamans used the porhalaan, the traditional calendar, for divination purposes related to farming, lunar cycles etc This pieces measures 17" in length and comes with a stand.
