Description: Italy 18 Old Revenue Stamps on checks and pieces There 4 checks: A large check written in Vienna on May 23 1905 for 144.20 Kroner. Check appears to be a 10 Heller revenue stamped paper and is written to a Giovanni Gilardini in Naples. Front has several ink pad stampings and a sticker denoting the currency is CORONE. The back has multiple signatures and endorsements as well 2 Italian revenue stamps. Unfortunately, the draft has a large piece cut out of it. Three 1950 checks from an employee of the US Embassy in Rome drawn on a Wisconsin bank made payable to Banca di Italia (2 - with 1 Lire brown revenue stamps on the back) and one to the American Embassy Commissary (with an orange 3 lire orange revenue stamp). The checks have multiple endorsements. There are a further 13 revenue stamps on pieces, torn from checks like those noted above: 11 Brown 1 Lira on pieces of checks plus 2 orange 3 Lire on pieces.
