It is made of two layers of bicomponent spunbond nonwoven fabric for strength and resistance to chemicals, and the fabric is coated with a multilayered barrier film for reduced penetration of air, moisture, and water vapor. There is a front zipper for easier donning, and a storm flap over the zipper helps prevent the entry of liquids. The seams are sewn and sealed with a heat-activated tape to help block liquids and particulates, and there are elastic closures at the wrists to provide greater protection than open wrists. This disposable jacket meets European standard EN 1149-1:2006 for surface resistivity.
