Friesians are such gorgeous horses. I fell in love with them...twice! The first time I was quite young and reading a book about King Arthur and his knights. One of the horses on the cover was a beautiful black charger. Horses, courtly love, chivalry, an epic tale about King Arthur...what is not to love? The second time I met a beautiful Friesian stallion at Equine Affair in Columbus, Ohio, was he ever gorgeous! I couldn't keep my eyes off him! I knew one of these days, if I could ever learn to paint horses, I would paint some Friesians. This whole series, my Shadow series, is all about these beautiful, majestic dark horses I fell in love with. I hope you enjoy!
