Description: RARE to find anymore is this: KA-BAR U.S.M.C. Fighting Knife as issued on Dec. 9th 1942 and produced to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Marine Corps 1898-1998. This for all practical purposes should be considered as new because it's only been out of the box for photographing for this listing. The blade still had the protective cover from the factory and the knife has never been in the USMC leather sheath that also included along with a historical brief and a KA-BAR catalog from 1998. This was made by KA-BAR Knives in Orlean, N.Y. and has the 100th Anniversary USMC Knife retail sticker still affixed to the end of the box as shown in our photos. For any collector, this is a sensational piece of U.S.M.C. history and a terrific knife for their collection.
