Description: PEPPER SAUCE BOTTLE OPEN PONTIL 1850s. This beautiful old pepper sauce was dug from a privy in San Francisco in the early 1970s. This is the 8 sided example with 3 rings just above the fluted shoulder and about half the way up to its very nicely tooled lip with some nice bubbles seen. It is a nice shade of aqua with faint iridescence. It stands 8 3/8 inches tall and just about 2 1/2 inches across the base. Very nice pontil with a sharp edge. There seems to be an extra elongated edge on one panel, very fascinating and rather unique. This one has a nice feel to the glass after being buried 175 years or so. Also a little haze inside with a couple of brown specks on the inside base. Appears nice and clean and from my collection. Hope you may enjoy adding this to your collection, thanks for looking David
