Description: RARE 1880-90'S ORIGINAL HUGE COLE BROS. LIGHTNING ROD WEATHERVANE WITH ORIGINAL FERRULE. Meas. approx. 33 1/4"L. Features giant cast iron frame with twisted wire back for animal. This arrow typically had the large running horse on back. We showed this arrow against a typical sized arrow and you can clearly see the immense size difference. Typical size arrow for comparison only and not included in auction. This arrow was designed to fit on the earlier twisted/star/section type rods with a 7/8"D ferrule area and will fit any tube style rod as well. Comes complete with original ferrule(seized). Overall condition good. There is typical and expected overall rust and pitting present from 140+ years of outdoor exposure. Remains solid and ready to display.
