Description: † Rare 1920’s 13 Saints RELIC THECA CRUCIFIX Ossuary Rosary Nun Priest Germany †. This amazing ~100 year old crucifix contains the relics of 13 different saints set in little golden wire baskets with the names on paper tags over top. Relics are made with the bone, mummified flesh and/or death shroud of the saint. It also has lovely gold filigree type scroll work with translucent red and blue glass seed beads set between. The ebonized wood is inlayed into the metal crucifix with a screw at the bottom to open the front and expose the relics. Measures 4.5” tall and is stamped “Germany” on the back of the bail. The last two photos I found while researching this pieces and are from an identical crucifix with the original box and paperwork. Those are just for reference!!!!! Lovely green patina on the left and back of the metal make this look and feel like a real long kept relic itself. The rosary is made of carved wooden beads and chain and measured about 14” long.
