Russian Imperial Fabergé 88 Silver Blue Guilloche Enamel Locket Egg Pendant

Description: A Most Gorgeous and Rare Antique Royal Blue Guilloche Imperial Faberg 88 Silver Egg Pendant. Please note that due to age there is one missing crystal. The piece bears the hallmark of Faberg workmaster Viktor Aarne- whose mark is BA- active 1880-1904. This is a rare piece. Spectacular workmanship. He is a famous Finnish jeweler of the 19th 20th century who collaborated withfaberg, being a supplier of the Russian imperial court. It features a Royal blue guilloche enamel with a net pattern of silver and clear paste stones. ( Paste stones were a type of glass used in antique jewelry). The egg opens and and snaps securely when closed. It has a luminous goldwash on the inside which has acquired a lustrous patina over the years. One may store scents or medicine or any small sentimental items inside. These eggs were special gifts during the late 1800s to early 1900s Russia. The Faberg company 1842 , employed the top silver and gold smiths during that time. The company gained much recognitionf after their work saw the attention of the Tsar who later commissioned special pieces from the House of Faberg. During this time the company was being run by Peter Carl Faberg. Today Faberg eggs are highly collectible and very rare to come by. This beautiful antique Egg Locket is a unique piece. It weighs 27.4 Grams. Egg is 44mm long 32mm wide. It is Hallmarked BA in Cyrllic for Faberg workmaster Viktor Aarne on both bail and ring attached to the pendant along with old Russian 88 Zolotnik Silver mark and City mark. The wonderful piece is in excellent condition for age. One missing crystal as mentioned above. Overall an exceptional collectible piece. Please ask questions.
