Description: NO RESERVE! This antique (1878-1890) “NIMROD” PLATE from SARREGUEMINES features a beautiful multicolor HUNTING SCENE with an elk or buck deer. Made in FRANCE. The plate is made of clay ceramic, with a high glaze finish. It measures approximately 7” in diameter and is part of the "Hunting Scenes" product line by Sarreguemines. Original Victorian-era piece from 1850-1899. From an engraving by JOHAANN ELIAS RIDINGER (1698-1767) a German artist best known for his engravings of wild animals. Hallmarked appropriately on underside of base (photo). Crazing noted. Acorn leaf rim surround (photo). I note a tiny nip on rim edge (last photo). Clean. VERY GOOD, preowned, antique, used condition. No other chips, cracks, breaks, hairlines or restorations that I can see. As is, as found.
