Description: Maker: This set of 4 lovely floral plates has the blue decorator's and green white ware marks of the renowned Limoges firm A. Lanternier, which produced and decorated high quality porcelain from around 1880 until just after World War 1. Age: According to the third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, both marks were in use between 1891 and 1914. Design: The scalloped plates feature finely detailed small flowers and are beautifully trimmed in mottled gold. The design extends to the back of one plate. Size: They are 7 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 10 ounces. Condition: There are no marks, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs or crazing. One plate has two chips on the edge - they're shown in the photos with the penny and red arrow - and there is light wear to the edge and design on all 4 plates. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
