Description: Signed copy of the ‘The Old Man and The Sea’ by ErnestHemingway. Limited first illustration edition published in 1953 by the JonathanCape Limited / The Reprint Society. The 1st illustrated edition of this iconic novella waspublished that ultimately won Ernest Hemingway the Nobel Prize in literaturewas 6 months after the original novella was released in September 1952. Ernest Hemingway’s signature can be seen above the drawingof the Old Man at the start of the book. ** AUTHENTICATION NOTE: ** I’ve reduced the price because Ernest Hemingway autograph has not been sent for “Official Authentication. — I am happy to obtain an official authentication (along with a Certificate of Authentication a.k.a. COF) from a reputable London based antique book dealer that I use for my higher value book BUT 1) It will need to done be upon request from buyers. 2) The buyer will have to commit to purchasing the item if both the signature and book has been authenticated (obviously no purchase is expected if it fails the authentication process) and finally, 3) The buyer will also have to pay the Cost of Authentication which is around £125 or USD165. Still, despite not being signed copy of a true 1st edition, adding a signed copy of the 1st illustratededition of the ‘Old Man and The Sea’ by Ernest Hemingway (in such a goodcondition) definetly makes it a gem for any serious amateur book collector or bigHemingway fans.
