The Speedplay X cleat sets stages, V.2 (sponsorship-only black) are IDENTICAL dimensionally to the standard gold version that was offered to the public. The ONLY difference is that the sponsorship-only black bottom plates use HARD BLACK ANODIZATION. (For reference, the standard X cleats use HARD GOLD ANODIZATION.) BOTH the black and gold anodization use TYPE III HARD ANODIZATION which provides the most abrasion resistance out of all three types, so there will be NO DIFFERENCE in the wear characteristics between the two versions. The X spring housings of the sponsorship X cleat set stages use the same GV6H grivory material as the standard X cleats. (NOTE: The "6" in GV6H refers to the 60% glass content in the grivory.) The V.2 M4x12mm cleat fastening screws are compatible with the original X cleat sets and the V.2 X cleat sets. This kit does NOT include the base plates given that under normal usage, base plates rarely wear enough to require replacement. (IMPORTANT: If your base plates are significantly worn, please do NOT purchase this kit and purchase a complete X cleat set instead.) IMPORTANT: These Speedplay X cleat set stages are compatible ONLY with the original Speedplay Snap Shim Base Plate (V.1), the Speedplay V.2 Snap Shim Base Plate or wahoo Speedplay Base Plate. The wahoo Speedplay Base Plate is also denoted by the "V.2" on the Base Plate.
