Description: From the collection The book has come from an incredible collection which we were lucky enough to acquire very recently. The owner had been in the US Army before becoming an electrical engineer. His interested ranged from military history to UFOs to the best fiction of his times. This book comes from a batch that was stored in a den. We didn’t notice a damp smell of any sort in the den, however the books have the old book smell (one I like, personally,) There is foxing to the page edges, and some have yellowing to the sun facing side, but that is the bulk of the noticeable wear. There may be small creases or tears in the jackets, if large I will take a close up. From the books we have thus far examined and photographed, what stands out the most is the care that the gentleman took with his library. Bindings are in exceptional condition. The owner did write his name and purchase a date on endpapers, and he also put bookplates in some but not all of his books.some have an embossed stamp as well. I hope you enjoy this book as much as we enjoyed examining the gentleman’s library! The book is in overall good VINTAGE condition. Shows normal wear for its age. Pages are clean. No evidence of loose pages. No noticeable musty smell:in some cases there will be a faint smell, if it is significant I will mention it here, Vintage books should always be handled with care as pages, bindings, and adhesives may be fragile. Typical and expected signs of wear for vintage books include foxing to page edges, yellowing of pages, etc. Please see photos and use zoom function for condition, and contact me if needed for more information or photos. I don’t use stock photos,so photos in the listing are for the actual book you are purchasing.
