Description: Offered for auction here is the booklet entitled "Mobilization". It discusses the efforts of the US to mobilize its industrial might to produce the machines, weapons and ammunition needed for war. The US entered World War I with little planning for the needs of its military men and women, and following World War I, with the passing by Congress of the "National Defense Act of 1920", a mechanism was put in place to identify the needs of the services. By 1930, the US had in place a plan to minimize the burdens of wartime production. A "War Resources Board" was established to advise on economic mobilization, survey materials and facilities, plan for price controls, and plan for special issues such as the production of synthetic rubber.
