Description: For sale is a very nice vintage Stan-Test Bunting 48 star flag. 48 star flags were produced between 1912 and early 1959. It was bought from the estate of a Vietnam navy veteran whose father was a WWII veteran. The flag has steel grommets, not brass, possibly indicating it is WWII-era. However, the stamped "Stan-Test Bunting. Reg. U.S. Patent Office" would seem to indicate production in the 1930's as most flags produced in the 1940's and later had the "Dettras" logo added. The family holding the estate sale didn't know anything about the flag other than they found it packed away in a box of things that had belonged to their grandparents. The flag is cotton with sewn red and white strips and printed stars. It is in exceptionally good condition for it's age with only a few minor dirt smudges and paint marks. Measures 4' x 6'. Please see photos. Carefully packaged and shipped USPS Ground Advantage.
