Description: This is a new in box Airex Eldorado with factory installed line, box with clear plastic cover, all paperwork, hang tag etc. Airex, a division of the Lionel train company began making reels after the end of the war when defense contracts expired. I can only find one or two of these Eldorado’s online however, I did find an ad (on eBay here) from April 1958 advertising these reels for 19.95. It describes exactly what these reels are. I didn’t want to copy it here as it is not mine but you can search and see what this reel is. In today’s dollars the purchase price (19.95) would be around 220.00 if there were no increases over the years. This reel is pristine however, the box and clear plastic cover has taken more of a beating over the years. Please see pictures.
