Description: Vintage Antique Wooden Ratchet Alarm Clacker Noisemaker Gas Alert Watchman This antique noisemaker was used to sound an alarm without throwing off sparks that might start a fire. This type of device was commonly used in both World Wars, in coal mines, and by watchmen. This piece was acquired from antique collectors but we could not find a manufacture date. It is structurally sound with no damage, and when spun, is loud. See the video to hear the sound; it is noticeably louder in person than on the video. It is 11" long, and measures 9" top to bottom with the handle. Surface wear from use, but structurally sound with no visible damage. Functions properly.
