Description: Vintage Butterfly Canister Set of 2 Hand Painted Ceramic Ginger Jar Orange 1980s Condition:This is a beautiful, vintage set of kitchen canisters. They are hand-painted, hobbyist ceramic mold jars. They are in a ginger jar shape with a cream-colored body and a bright, orange lid. The jars are painted with a lovely butterfly and floral design. Each jar is unique and although they match, they are not identical. The larger jar is signed "MM 1984" while the smaller jar is signed "EL". I suppose it may have been sisters or friends, each painting one of the canisters. The larger jar measures 7.5" tall with the lid x 5.5" tall without the lid x 4" wide at the base x 2.25" wide at the mouth. The smaller jar measures 6.5" tall with the lid x 4.5" tall without the lid x 3.5" wide at the base x 2" wide at the mouth. The combined weight is 2 lb. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or damage. There is some slight crazing, consistent with age. They are so pretty.
