Description: Circa 1938-1950: The Harlequin ball jug was originally designed for the Fiestaware line which makes sense when looking at the tell-tale bands of concentric rings which generously adorn the base and bottom of the water pitcher. Modeled after the Hall China's ball jug the piece was eventually used in Woolworth's Harlequin dinnerware line. The water pitcher was made in all colors and ran in production for an impressive 21 years. Harlequin mauve blue was one of the original 4 colors and was discontinued in 1950 to make room for the new '50s colors. This example is in excellent collector quality condition without signs of use or damage and boasts a wonderful rich and even glaze. Measures 7 1/4" x 8 1/2" wide.
