Description: This is a rare MM-11 3-1 reel made by Martin. It is a vintage dual pawl reel that sucks up line like a modern large arbor reel with its 3-1 gear ratio. It is similar to a Martin MG-10 size wise but the spool is about an 1/8th of an inch wider so a regular F15 spool does not fit. It shares the same spool as a LL Bean MP. The MP is a single pawl clicker as opposed to the dual pawl on a MM-11. The best I can determine is the reel was made in the 80s -90s. This reel is labeled Mohawk NY as its origin. It is black in color with a black spool. By far most vintage reels cannot perform like a modern reel. These multipliers can absolutely compete with modern reels and they are in a smaller package. If you don’t want to look like everyone else but want a vintage high performance reel. This is it. This reel may have been used. It looks like handling marks mostly. Some tarnish on the swing arm that locks the reel face to the spool housing. It appears to also have the factory grease still applied. Very rare reel.
