Description: The tag on the bottom says the following: ~~~ Metalcraft Styled In Steel Furniture Lynwood, California Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law ALL NEW MATERIAL Consisting of BACK Urethane Foam 100% SEAT Cotton/Felt (Linters 70%/Picker 30%) 92-1/2% Urethane Foam Pad 1-1/4”x10”x10” 7-1/2% MODEL NO. 6B455 Reg. No. Cal. 12039 Certification is made that the materials in this article are described in accordance with law. ~~~ There is no mention of the actual outer, decorative layer of upholstery. That tells me that the tag was made for every version of the 6B455 chair, and that the mode number does not necessarily mean anything to do with the pattern. It is definitely a vinyl and not cotton/felt. The tag has seen better days (while remaining 94% intact) and a person might apply a few more staples to it to make sure it never gets caught on anything and get in worse shape. There is no mold, just water stains and some tears. I do not know the date but going by style and shape they seem almost late 1960s. Color itself may be more 1970s. Mostly green seat and back with gold or bronze accents. Metallic sheen. The metal parts of the chair are three, possibly four separate pieces, not counting screws or feet or trim.. I will be partially disassembling to ship but will include the hardware of course and will be able to supply simplified instructions for easy reassembly if desired. This chairs is in really great shape overall. The vinyl is soft and clean and not all dried out or brittle. I’m assuming the original owner(s) knew how to properly maintain vinyl! I had to do some cleaning myself of it when I acquired it and it cleaned up nice. There are a few minor spots/stains that may still come out. I spent at least two hours cleaning this chair. The metal parts of the chair are in decent and complete shape albeit with some scuffs and a few paint chips (mainly in one area). The base has some light rust where the welds are which creates a porous texture that seems to hold some grease but all the welds are extremely strong. There is also some grease at the precise point of swivel which I have opted not to clean out because it will a meant to be there. A person could change it out for fresher, cleaner grease if desired. The upholstery has only two very small rips. One is on a corner of the bottom of the seat where it wraps under and is only about 1/16” by 1/16”, barely more than a pinhole. The other is on the back of the back and is 1/16” by 1/2”. It’s also very inconspicuous. SEE ALL PHOTOS FOR THESE ISSUES, I CONSIDER THEM TO BE MINOR. Beyond that there isn’t much to say, please review item specifics for dimensions and other info. I am open to any and all questions!
