There is no on/off switch on this lamp so you need to unplug it when you want to turn it off. This lamp weighs 3.6 pounds and measures 16 and 3/8" tall up to the top of the light bulb socket by 6" wide at the base. There are intricate raised designs and patterns throughout. The lamp is made from metal however I am unsure of the exact type of metal that it is made from. A magnet will not stick to the metal. There is minimal wear present with no breaks or repairs present.
